To all those that said we should go after Zaniolo instead of Danjuma because Everton were after him so he must be shiiiit, take a look at this. Bournemouth are in for Zaniolo. You couldn’t make it up 😂😂😂

https://twitter.com/fabrizioromano/status/1618557642485698562?s=21

Bournemouth have discussing a bid to sign Nicolò Zaniolo: €30m guaranteed fee plus add-ons and sell-on clause to AS Roma 🚨🇮🇹 #transfers @SkySport

AC Milan already discussed personal terms with Zaniolo’s camp in the last few days.

Player’s position/decision will be crucial.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not sure on Zaniolo myself - he may be a decent player. However his ACLs seem dodgy - two big injuries. Especially given the fee that would be required to close a deal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's very rare to get a player on loan, who's selling club are INSISTING on an obligation, be anything other than a huge disappointment. Kulu and Bentancur are the exceptions. Most of the time, if the selling club insist on an obligation it's because they think he'll be sent back. It's a red flag. Look at how desperate we've been to add an obligation to Ndombele and Lo Celso, with no great luck. Same applies here. With Zaniolo, that could be his injury record rather than his ability but from what I've read, it's not like we're getting someone with Hazard's ability and Redknapp's injury record. His numbers aren't that great even when he plays. Can't really understand the fuss about him. We really don't need another player on a long contract who's either underwhelming or injury prone.

At least with Danjuma there's clearly a confidence Villareal have in not making it an obligation. They obviously believe he'll impress enough for us to sanction a deal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

A) Bournemouth being in for him doesn’t mean he is schitt - he also has AC Milan in for him, Dnajumas options were us or Everton, Zaniolo - Us, AC, Bournemouth.

B) Roma want the obligation because he has 18 months left on his contract and won’t sign a new deal - they don’t want him going somewhere for 6 months and then the club saying “we will wait 12 months for him”. If he had 3 years left I’m confident there would be no obligation

This Bournemouth development is hilarious, we can see the financials needed to make the deal happen and back Conte - Levy can explain why it didn’t happen afterwards.

Can’t see him going to Bournemouth mind, he has 2 CL clubs in for him - unless the wages offered are astronomical

Yep. It's the right thing to do but we will back to square one in the summer. Can't see Conte staying either.

He does have the right to appeal but who knows 🤷‍♂️
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Dont forget to add in that Spurs are in turmoil. Everyone else is doing it.
Funny how we are the only club who are in the CL last 16, comfortably 5th and just 3 points off two teams that are playing out of this world, that's season is such a disaster.
If we are in such turmoil, then where does that compare with Liverpool and Chelsea, who are still being billed as clubs "just waiting to get going" or "all will come good soon enough"

More spin going on in the PL than ever.

You're not looking at trajectory and performances. The truth is that we've lost 7 out of 11 games recently and of the games we did win, 2 of them were unlikely comebacks against Bournemouth and Leeds. We picked up loads of fortuitous points when we weren't playing well at the start of the season which is giving a false representation in the table. The drop off in results of late is a consequence of those performances finally levelling off and being translated into results.

We're drifting, there's no doubt about it. We were comfortably in the top four not long ago and before the Fulham game we were close to 10 points off it, if you take into account the games in hand Newcastle and United have over us.

Then there's the CL. We got lucky with a sending off at home to Marseille which changed the game. We very nearly lost at home to Sporting and probably should have and only just about got through against Frankfurt. This was also considered to be the easiest of all the CL groups.

My point in all this is that you're not paying attention to the detail. Those stats are very surface level. Beneath are some troubling issues waiting to come out.

Things are different at Liverpool because Klopp has proved himself there. There's an allowance for a bad season on the basis that he's done it there so his credibility is in tact (and before you say Conte has done it other clubs - that's completely irrelevant - different clubs entirely) and at Chelsea you have a new manager and a new owner. That's always going to take time to get going and they have to contend with Boehly playing FIFA with recruitment. Graham Potter is really up against it there.

Conte has had over a year with a CV that suggests his shelf life at a club is two years. We're worse than we were last season which, again, is what tends to happen in his second or third year at most clubs. What we're seeing shouldn't be a shock. It's a par performance.

Didn’t you hear? He’s just finished his medical and he heard of a better offer in West London.

Hasn't there been a hitch? Spurs growing frustrated with Sporting's payment terms of something?

apparently the fee is agreed and they're working out the size and number of installments and then regardless sporting don't want him to go until after their cup final on Saturday

It seems to me there's a direct correlation between length of time a protracted transfer takes and just how good the spurs fans believe he is. If we sign someone average that takes an age to agree, the sense of his value is inflated massively. At this stage you'd think we were signing Lahm or Cafu such is the desperation.

I don’t think Sporting wanted him to leave till after the cup final hence why we’ve taken the time to try drive down the price but hasn’t worked

😂😂 same is true for when a player is out injured or never plays. As much as I want Spence to be given an opportunity, fact is we don’t know how good/bad he is. Some fans are saying he should be starting based on probably youtube highlights ffs
