I'm not convinced yet. He's got away with a lot of bad mistakes. Some of which have been genuinely horrendous.

Hopefully he irons that out of his game.

The record speaks for itself. He fits into the team well and influences how we perform. That's one of the things people on here don't always appreciate. Sometimes the effect players have on the team helps get more out tf other players and the team as a whole. Mustafi appears to be one of them.

Giroud another.

He's increasingly becoming the source of most of our attacking play, now that we don't have Santi and Coquelin to drop deep for the ball and start a move.

This obviously carries the risk of having his through-balls intercepted time and time again, but I can live with that.

He's seamlessly slotted into our offside trap and is quite vocal with the back 4.

I especially like how both he and Koscielny cause havoc in the opposing box during set pieces. His headed goal over the weekend was a treat.

All in all, a decent first season.

Says something about his ability on the ball when it is him taking a 96th minute corner!!

Found that odd, especially since it was on the left side

Think it was just cos he was nearest, tbf.

He allows us to play a way we can't with Per in the side, this is hugely valuable alone.

The fact he's a good ball playing CB is also a plus.

I think he's quality. Being a good ball player is so important these days, and although he has his moments, there are plenty of worse defenders playing in better teams.

We're much better with him in the side. That'll do me.

I think he's class, getting better and better as he settles into a new league/country. Fans of other clubs don't seem to rate him when they speak to me about Arsenal, but I love the guy and will happily defend him.

His passion has been a great highlight for me. I think having Per and Ozil here (plus a core of La Liga players) has really helped him settle and feel at home. As others have mentioned, he really benefits the team and how we play.

Certainly glad that we signed him in the summer. A future captain if he spends the peak of his career here.

Really like him. Reminds me of Kos in his early days with us, but better than he was. Bodes well. Still has some bits of his game to improve but he will get there, already makes us a lot better when he plays.

Sounds like I'm getting massively carried away with that comment... To clarify, I don't think he's as good as Kos or Alderwield at the minute.

24 years old though...

I thought he was too expensive but he's worth the £35million or whatever we paid for him

In the same way as Pogba is a United reject.

I was sceptical when we bought him in and it hasnt change. Not convinced he is worth the money we paid for him.

Think hes been really good for us bar the odd few games. If our clown of a team stopped giving away neadless pens our defence would actually look like a rock.

it was him or no one, so he was worth it for me
