Aussie RL must get a big TV deal now

This has been the case for years.....league has always out-rated AFL but unlike in the past we now have the commision looking after t.v rights procedures where before it was channel 9 Vs mates from with-in the NRL.
In the days of ARL not one person had the courage to stand up to Mr Packer (owner of channel 9) he had it his way all the time and the trend just carried on after his death.

The t.v stations will argue that AFL is a better game to broadcast because of the 4 quarters which allows more time for adverts plus more stopages.....where a game of league might have 6 - 8 tries scored in a game the AFL might have 30 - 40 scoring apportunities where time is stopped and an advert entering.......the AFL actually have a white light on top of each grandstand and tells the umpire when to restart the game with a bounce of the ball, the light indicates the advert has finished, so carry on live....
This is the area the NRL have to improve on to put up a fight for more money....

NRL is okay in the UK 170 games on our screens next season can't wait and all for a bargain £7.99 per month

That's about the same price as we pay Barra.....but we have to have the innitial set up to start with.
So, if for example I didn't have FOX already connected the cheapest I would be paying to watch NRL is 30-pound per month.....23-pound for the set up package + 7-pound NRL.

It's a shame we only get 2 Toyota Cup (under 20's) games though because I love watching the next up and coming stars before they learn the bad habit's of holding down in a tackle etc...
