Do questions need to be asked of the Arsenal players mentality? They seemingly downed tools against Aston Villa to spite Tottenham, even though they were looking good for the title.

If the game was a complete dead rubber for spurs then you can kind of understand and say they were on the beach.
However, the reality is, if they had somehow beaten City, Emery would have 100% bottled it v palace to give spurs CL football

Ultimately the last laugh will be on Tottenham. We all know in this world that social media is king and it won't have escaped the players eyes this mad obsession to lose from the fans. I wouldn't be surprised if some of them are looking at this and thinking what am I doing at this club. There is no real ambition for success from the board level and from the supporter base(not all but it seems a fair portion). This is before you even try to approach future players they are gonna take one look at this and think I would be wasting my career going there. This is not even a wind up if you take a minute to think about it all it does is just show Tottenham are not a serious club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And if the roles were ever reversed. There would be a fair portion of arsenal fans saying they'd prefer to lose.
And don't pretend otherwise.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's a hyperthetical argument, right now in the real world with everyone watching Tottenham look like the loser club and you can't really argue the point.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's not thou is it, as I've seen videos of arsenal fans saying if it meant spurs lost the CL final, they'd happily take losing the europa league final.

Think the OP is still drunk from celebrating City's win last night.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Arsenal fans couldn’t wait to tell us we won them the title, now it’s not happened they can’t handle it and are lashing out. Of course we’re going to rub it in.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
wtf nobody expected Spurs to get anything from last night. The only positive was they didn’t massively build on their GD as expected

Your manager having arguments with fans in the stadium and probably a fair portion of the crowd wanting you to lose that's a different level.

Bats said this the other day.
There was an article about it on the Arsenal board in the week in 2019 when both games were being played.
