Derby County 4 - 2 Bristol Rovers

DERBY COUNTY v BRISTOL ROVERS League 1 # 15

1500 Pride Park Saturday 28th October 2022

Still the questions persist for a Derby County side, rich in individual talent but seeming struggling to play in a way that Paul Warne wants. Tuesday night v Exeter City illustrated perfectly our difficulty (willingness?)to adapt to life in League 1.

The calls have started questioning Warne's ability and nous. I'm pleased that he seems able to ignore this and determined to play his way. Might help if the players played his way as well. Isn't incredible to see how far we have come since liquidation days last year?

Nothing has really happened in the wider world of any interest apart from some contemporary national issues of no interest to national security whatsoever. And didnโ€™t it feel strange listening to a Paul Gadd track overlying a promo vid about our current Prime Minister?

FFS . Anyway - we welcome Bristol Rovers to Pride Park on Saturday, who sit just a point behind the Mighty Rams and entertain ideas about the play-offs themselves. Joey Barton is the manager -he of a social conscience and fiery temper. They managed to hold second placed Wednesday to a draw in their last match.

Keeping in touch (of the play-offs) seems to be the mantra until the January transfer window at least. What I though was a reasonable sized squad is being ground down by injuries to key players and this is not sustainable. However Collins should be back....will this make a difference?

Team news:- Wildsmith (GK), Forsyth, Hourihane, Cashin, Bird (C), Collins, McGoldrick, Mendez-Laing, Smith, Roberts, Dobbin

Subs:- Loach (GK), Thompson, Sibley, Stearman, Osula, Oduroh, Rooney

Correct Spart, but ‘wick’ as in quick, so intelligent rather than wise.

Was "cwick" orignially. Yet the expression is commonly also used to describe Yorkshiremen, but definitely with "thick" as in stupid. They can even buy a bag to advertise the fact:

In my experience though, Yorkshire folk aren't all that strong.

I guess Spart is more or less a naturalised Yorker now?

I think he would pass easily as a Yorkie. I imagine that all of these prizes for dancing he boasts about have been at some tea room or other in that county. He probably slips the judges a Fat Rascal on the sly to get their approval.

Who needs Stoke on a Tuesday night, we rams an hour before the game can generate over 500 on a windy night in Eric.

Dogs can’t even get that over a season and that’s us helping them to let them know that if they go down they will actually be officially the worse team in history with the amount of money they’ve spent.

Stick that on your โœŒ๏ธStar and suck on it ya saps.
