Blackburn v Forest - Match Thread

Where to now? Confidence and competition must be at an all time-high after Leicester's destruction. What looked like a disastrous run of fixtures post the Cardiff debacle, now looks like a tough, but winnable run of games.

Again, we could have our first opportunity to sit in a play-off spot, with sixth spot up for grabs and a chance to claw three points off second-placed Blackburn.

Over the last ten (not inc. the FA Cup) we are:

*8th in the form table (v 4th)
*4th joint most goals for: 15 v (v joint 15th: 11)
*5nd joint least goals against: 8 (v 1st!! with 4)
*Forest over the last ten are 1.9 PPG
*Blackburn are 2 PPG

Over the last six:

*Forest are W2 D2 L2 Away - GF 7 GA 6
*Blackburn are W5 D1 L0 @ Home - GF 12 GA 1

So, Blackburn are in pretty good form then! Especially at Home.

I think we'll nick this one

Prediction: 1-0 to Forest!

COYR!!!

Worked so hard for that tonight. To be fair nothing went right for Blackburn, but Forest had more good chances and could have scored more.

Some in form teams behind us with games in hand but we can’t complain. That’s a huge win to beat Blackburn at Ewood. They’ve been so good at home. Keep going Forest

Great result. What has stood out for me in the last 2 games is how far we have come at managing the last 10 minutes. We are now the team likely to score and it no longer backs to the walls and pray we hold out. Cooper is doing something very very special at our club. Let's just hope the owner gives him the support and leaves him alone to get on with things.

As someone who was let’s say ‘underwhelmed’ by the appointment of SC, I am totally over the moon to have been proved totally wrong

What a magnificent job he and his back team staff are doing, the turnaround has been transformational - and I haven’t seen such optimism or belief in a team for many, many years

It’s a travesty we’re in the Championship, because this current squad would grace any ground or opposition in the PL - we’ve proved that already this year

I only hope he doesn’t get poached, because SC is definitely destined for bigger and better things - we need to do everything possible to support him and give him what he needs to achieve success with us, because if we don’t, he won’t stick around for too long and someone else will benefit from our loss

Thank you Steve Cooper and your team for all you’ve done and continue to do for our great, historic Club - here’s hoping for even better times ahead with you πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ

Other teams are circling on the playoff places like sharks so we had to win...but away to the 2nd placed team?

Sounded like we rode our luck before scoring a great goal. Held our own second half till they had a player sent off (minutes after they should have had another player sent off).

Then they pressed but we hit them on the break and missed 2 or 3 chances to sew it up. By now I'd found the game was on NOW TV after all, paid a tenner for 30 minutes, and was able to see Surridge draw the foul and BJ slot the penalty home.

So we won in second gear. Massive performance and result.

Well said REV. However I hope you are proven wrong about SC being poached. Look at Sean Dyche or what Eddie Howe did at B'mouth; neither of them poached when lesser managers got big jobs. Lets hope tha same happens with our manager. But it does depend on us being promoted if not this season, then next.

If that were to happen, even if we were to last omly one season in EPL it could start a new era for us. The money we would receive in the Prem (and the iniquitous parachute payments) would go a long way in helping to bring the stadium up to date..

Let's just enjoy te remainder of this season and keep our fingers crossed we get the end result we hope for.

p.s. It's just as important we hold on to Dane Murphy as well as Steve Cooper.
