Potters V Forest Match Thread

Tuesday night 8:00pm K.O

A difficult away trip coming up, where a point would be a result, Forest can't afford their usual slow start, because Stoke like to score early. As against Blackburn and then can spend the rest of the game keeping you out, slowing it down etc..
Powell scored the only goal of the game in the seventh minute, Blackburn went on to enjoy 68% possession and the majority of on-target strikes and corners; but left with nowt as we say.

Stoke have now kept eight consecutive clean sheets; their last loss was 1-2 at home to Cardiff on 8th Dec', a game in which they couldn't score, relying on Montgomery to score at either end, with Glatzel equalising after his team mates error, before a 76 minute winner for Cardiff.

The flash boy Ince plays at No 7 for them, seems to sit on the bench, but doesn't figure in the goal scoring stats; their leading goal scorers are Campbell [7], Powell [5] & Fletcher [4], with a odd goals through out the rest of the team.

So the lads need to look sharp keep it tight and not concede an early goal, otherwise, with Forest's lightweight attack, it's going to be a long frustrating night.

Need a goal, need a point and need some hope.

Forest deserved to win that game. The second half showed what they are capable of. Dominated throughout.

Considering when we last played Stoke they smashed us 1:4 at our place....going on tonight’s performance, maybe we’re improving

Right from the kick off, we won the toss, what did we do, kicked the ball out of play and didn’t get another touch for 20 minutes. We’re so much better going forward Rev.

Sounds daft but we’re 4 unbeaten and have gone backwards in the table, how frustrating is that ?? We obviously softened the brummies up for the Sheep.

Sorry Dave, you are right. I don't know when that rule was changed but I've just checked on the Laws of the Game and the game shall be replayed, but that is at the discretion of the executive.

If, for example a team is winning 2-0 with 5 minutes to go, the executive can decide that the result should stand.

I turned off at half time so I’m claiming some credit for that 2nd half performance. Every time I watch us live we are woeful.

No worries El, there have been examples of games not being completed, the Bradford fire was one, but most others that have any influence on standings are completed. I suppose a mid table end of season they maybe wouldn’t bother.

Canniggia, it’s funny that, every time we lose, a mate at work, who is also a Forest fan will ask, were you there or did you watch, he claims it’s my fault.

Guess we both need to stop watching!

I often wish I could stop, but realistically I know it won’t happen, I guess I am just a sucker for punishment.
