Ashley Fletcher

Leaving Man U for West Ham if the rumours are true.

Apparently turned down the offer of a new contract at Man U.

So is he any good? Do Man U and/or it's fans care he is leaving, or is he simply overated because he is English?

And I need to ask, if he was offered a new deal at Man U and he is seen as one for the future, did he turn it down because he felt he would have no chance of breaking into the first team under José?

Sounds good and considering our board at West Ham seem to looking at other strikers we have little chance of signing he may well get game time.

Good talent but this is the perfect time for him to leave and a brilliant club to join in the process for him personally.

So how do United get rid of a promising young talent for £0.5m, but Liverpool, in a similar situation with Sinclair, get £4m out of watford?

---------------

I'd assume that his contract is up and that Watford have made the offer of 500k to prevent the deal going to a tribunal. Still too little, but perhaps he is a good kid and they are happy to let him go and get on with his career?

yes, that's true, but from what i can see sinclair is in exactly the same boat - contract up, no transfer fee, would get a development fee out of a tribunal though - but somehow, despite having scored the grand total of 1 senior goal in his entire career, sinclair goes for £4m, whilst fletcher is practically given away.

The £500k is pure guess work at this stage, the tribunal will set the amount.

The report I read is from the Daily Mail, so they have likely made the figure up.

With Rashford, Ibra, Rooney and Martial, he'd get no game time anyway.

Power, pace, natural goalscorer. Absolutely tore it up in the U18s (I think he had nearly a goal a game record at one point) before he got promoted then went out on loan. But he'd now be behind Rashford, Wilson and probably Mitchell in the pecking order.

It's always hard to tell how forwards will fare on graduation to the seniors, but I'd expect 500k to turn out to be a bargain.
