The reputation of the Premier League

If/when City are found guilty and potentially their titles are all stripped and they’re relegated will the reputation of the Premier league suffer in a huge way? You’d think it would when a team for ten years has pretty much dominated and that legacy is tainted forever. Is even something as supposedly bulletproof as the Premier league juggernaut at risk of being devalued?

It can be argued they might have been forced or cornered into charging City with all this independent regulator business?

It could.

OP,
On the contrary. If City are punished, that would enhance the reputation of the Premier league as a league where corruption doesn’t pay off.

Non of the charges relate to corruption so that argument is straight out of the window

Mamba, outline the corruption charges for us please 👍

Of the 115 charges, those that would IMO fall within the dictionary definition of the word corruption are as follows

1.Failure to provide accurate financial reports for player and manager compensation x14

2.Breaches of Premier League profitability and sustainability regulations x7

There you go my saan.

I gave you what you asked for and this is all I get in return? I guess I answered your question so perfectly that you don't really have a comeback.

I haven’t read the comments in this thread but I’m pretty sure the reason this is taking so long is because the PL don’t want to find City guilty. Finding City guilty automatically tarnishes the reputation of the PL. It’s already become a bit of a joke with the Everton/Forest point reductions, I reckon this is only the beginning and plenty more clubs will face similar sanctions next season (all before anything happens to City).
----------------------------------------------------------------------

That makes absolutely no sense. The PL have no choice in whether City are found guilty or not. If they didn’t want there to be a possibility of them being found guilty they wouldn’t have charged them in the first place.
